Overview

LifeLong Medical Care has an exciting new opportunity for a Center Manager at our Brookside San Pablo Health Center. The Center Manager plays a key leadership role in the daily operations and coordination of multidisciplinary clinic services at the site level within LifeLong Medical. Reporting to the Center Director, this position supports Center supervisors and oversees a broad range of ancillary and administrative staff, to help ensure efficient patient flow, exceptional customer service, and high-quality care delivery. The Center Manager serves as the go-to operational leader on the clinic floor and provides critical backup for Center Supervisors and daily clinic operations when needed.

 

This is a full time, benefit eligible position in San Pablo. 

 

LifeLong Medical Care is a multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Benefits

Responsibilities

  • In support of the Center Director, provide day-to-day operational oversight and support to center supervisors and ancillary support staff.
  • Supervise non-provider ancillary staff, including but not limited to:
    • Case Managers, Community Health Workers, Triage Assistants, Patient Advocates, Referrals and Medical Records Staff, Health Educators/Population Health Specialists, etc.
  • Serve as backup for Center Supervisor(s) during absences or as delegated by the Center Director.
  • Lead or support daily clinic huddles in partnership with leadership and clinical staff.
  • Work closely with the Center Director and Center Supervisors to create and maintain weekly and monthly care team schedules while ensuring consistency in provider patient templates.
  • Collaborate with subject matter expert Managers to maintain accountability for ancillary staff and ensure department/program deliverables are met.
  • Back-up for approving time-off requests and punch corrections in coordination with site leadership.
  • Play an active role in the onboarding and orientation process for new team members.
  • Monitor and support supervisors in active, real-time staff management to ensure optimal workflow and staff accountability.
  • Support supervisors who are first responders for in-the-moment patient grievances and escalate as necessary.
  • Assist with front desk and clinic floor coordination to ensure seamless patient flow between front and back office.
  • Serve as the main point of operational contact for lab-related coordination and escalation.
  • Ensure a culture of accountability, teamwork, courtesy, and exceptional customer service is upheld throughout the site.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned to support overall clinic management and efficiency of services.

 

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be flexible with a “can do”, proactive attitude and an ability to continuously “scan” the environment, identifying and taking advantage of opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information to others.
  • Ability to work independently and comfortable asking for help and support.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive.
  • Comfortable with numbers and performing basic math calculations.

Job Requirements          

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in health center or clinical operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to maintain confidentiality, adhering to HIPPA laws.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite (including Word and Excel)

Job Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration, Public Health, Social Work, or related field – or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in provider template building, schedule coordinating or similar.
  • Experience working in community healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity navigating reporting tools (i.e. Tableau)
