Our AmeriCorps Health Fellows program is a community service and professional development opportunity wrapped into one. This experience enables individuals to connect our patients and communities in need to services to increase access to healthcare services, and health benefits programs, and promote prevention and wellness; while developing skills and exposure to the healthcare field.

 

**Please note, this is NOT job training.**

 

We are recruiting for 10 full-time in-person positions (40 hours/week) and require a 11-month commitment to serve a minimum of 1,700 service hours. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about health equity and social justice and are considering public health, medicine, social work, and mental/behavioral health for their higher education/career goals. The duration of this program is Fall 2025 to Fall 2026.

 

What LifeLong AmeriCorps Fellows Will Do

  • Health Coaching – Provide health coaching in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Care Coordination – Provide health screening and connect patients to health care benefits and services.
  • Case Management/Patient Navigation – Assist individuals with navigating health-related services/programs; provide eligibility assistance and enrollment in health benefits programs.
  • Community Engagement & Outreach – Conduct outreach in the community (i.e. schools, community centers, events, and shelters); provide education about available health resources and related programs and health care options.
  • Volunteer Recruitment/Management – Assist with recruitment, training, and retention of non-AmeriCorps volunteers; assist with the management of non-AmeriCorps volunteers.
  • Service Projects – Participate in various service projects; coordinate and engage fellows in planning and participating in community service projects.
  • Training – Attend trainings on various health topics and resources as needed for placement, plus professional development training as available.
