The Facilities Assistant at LifeLong Medical Care is responsible for carrying out a range of manual tasks under the guidance of the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. These tasks include maintenance and cleaning of buildings and grounds, minor equipment repairs, plumbing, carpentry, transportation of materials, setting up office furniture, and monitoring off-site storage.
This is a full time, 40 hours/week, benefit eligible position.

The Facility Assistant I position is the starting point for individuals looking to gain experience in the field. Initially, employees will work closely with supervision to perform routine tasks while receiving on-the-job training. As they gain more experience, they will have the opportunity to work more independently within set guidelines. This position can lead to advancement to Facility Assistant II or III for those who demonstrate proficiency and meet the qualifications for higher-level positions.
The Facility Assistant II position is considered to be at a mid-level. Employees in this role are expected to perform a wide range of duties under general supervision. The position is defined by having clear guidelines to follow and access to supervision in more complex situations. Employees are required to have a good understanding of operations and procedures, and the capability to independently complete daily tasks as directed and under normal circumstances.
The Facility Assistant III position is at an experienced level and involves performing a wide range of duties independently under general supervision. Employees in this role must have a strong understanding of operations and procedures, and be able to complete day-to-day tasks as directed, while also being capable of training others. The employee will have a defined knowledge of skills not learned on the job in a brief period of time. Assignments require the use of independent judgement and initiative. Lead direction of others is not a regular part of the job. This position serves as a working lead and may be responsible for specific areas such as fleet coordination, building security and safety, or maintenance liaison for facilities where LifeLong's ancillary services are housed (i.e. supportive housing, respite, or street medicine).
