Overview

LifeLong Medical Care has an exciting new opportunity for a Immediate Care Site Supervisor at our Berkeley Immediate Care site. The Immediate Care Site Supervisor is responsible for providing operational supervision and ongoing support to urgent care front and back office support staff. Provides day-to-day oversight and management of systems, workflows and operations.

 

This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible position in Berkeley, CA. 

 

LifeLong Medical Care is a multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Our patient-centered health home is a dynamic place to work, practice, and grow. We have over 15 primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including psychosocial, referrals, chronic disease management, dental, health education, home visits, and much, much more. 

 

Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day oversight and management of systems, workflows and operations, seeking support from the Urgent Care Services Manager as needed.
  • Coordinates medical care for urgent care patients and uses standing orders.
  • Coordinates primary care clinic services with other providers and agencies.
  • Provides well-documented, accurate and sensitive telephone and in-person drop-in advice, and well as health education and self-care instruction.
  • Facilitates smooth operations and communications between all staff.
  • Recruits, hires, orients, develops, supervises, and evaluates staff.
  • Develops appropriate organizational structure(s) and weekly staffing schedules and maintains master calendar. Responsible to serve as a back-up for positions needed in the clinic.
  • Addresses patient grievances.
  • Develops procedures in conjunction with staff and Urgent Care Services Manager.
  • Participates in quality assurance.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary team case management.
  • Additional duties, as assigned by Urgent Care Services Manager.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to the provision of primary care services for the underserved with demonstrated ability and sensitivity in working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic and cultural origins.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff, encourage and nurture development and growth, to build a strong and productive team.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Ability to effectively present information to others, including other employees, community partners and vendors.
  • Ability to work with individuals and organizations at the local level to build support.
  • Ability to seek direction/approval on essential matters, yet work independently with little onsite supervision, using professional judgment and diplomacy.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.

Job Requirements          

  • Minimum one year experience in outpatient clinical practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.

Job Preferences

  • Advanced working knowledge of outpatient care, triage and clinic flow.
  • Electronic health records, NextGen.
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Community or Public Health experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to provide services to persons who are disabled, homeless substance users, HIV (AIDS) infected, and/or psychologically impaired.
