Overview

LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our team. The Facilities Assistant will work under the supervision of the Facilities Director and Manager on a variety of facilities and maintenance related tasks. 

 

This is a full time, 40 hours/week, benefit eligible position. The Facilities Assistant will travel to all our LifeLong Medical Care sites in Oakland, Berkeley, Pinole, Rodeo, San Pablo and Marin.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, independently performs a range of maintenance, repair and renovation work.
  • Work activities may include but is not limited to installing faucets, and clearing drains; installing outlets, switches, replacing ballasts, fixtures; installing and adjusting door hardware; wall framing, patching and painting; and assists with mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Assists in ensuring the safety of occupants and building users.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance checks.
  • Performs scheduled yard and parking area clean-ups.
  • Delivers office supplies, equipment and furniture to various locations. Mail delivery may be included as needed.
  • Performs office setups and equipment assembly.
  • Manages retrievals from and deliveries to storage; monitor off-site storage facilities.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned by Facilities Director.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment following manufacture and safety guidelines.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Ability work independently using professional judgment and diplomacy.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Familiar with facilities building functions and trade, including;
  • Light electrical
  • Carpentry
  • HVAC
  • General maintenance functions
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
