    LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Facilities Assistant. The Facilities Assistant works under the supervision of the Facilities Director to provide care and maintenance for LifeLong Medical Care buildings and immediate grounds. The job includes a range of responsibilities, from basic facilities maintenance to computerized maintenance management system data entry and tracking. The position serves as department representative related to various special projects in the organization.


    This is a full time, benefit eligible position.


    LifeLong Medical Care is a large, multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community.     • Under general supervision, independently performs a range of maintenance, repair and renovation work
    • Work activities may include but is not limited to installing faucets, and clearing drains; replacing electrical outlets, switches, light ballasts, fixtures; installing and adjusting door hardware; wall framing, patching and painting; and assists with mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
    • Analyzes and troubleshoots problems and performs necessary repairs.
    • Assists in ensuring the safety of occupants and building users.  Conduct periodic maintenance inspections of building and grounds.  Works under Facilities Director to carry out a preventive maintenance assessment plan that insures a safe, clean, aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff and visitors.
    • Performs minor maintenance tasks,
    • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance checks
    • Performs data inputting related to facilities maintenance management system.
    • Delivers office supplies, equipment and furniture to various locations. Mail delivery may be included as needed.
    • Performs office setups and equipment assembly.
    • Monitor off-site shop and storage facilities.
    • Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
    • Carries out special projects as assigned by Facilities Director.
    • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend and on call hours.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements          

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Two years hands on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair.
    • Knowledge of CMMS, workplace safety, security and Microsoft Word /Excel.
    • Access to reliable transportation with current and valid California Driver’s license and insurance.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Knowledge of methods, practices and tools and equipment typically used in the cleaning and maintenance of office buildings and grounds.
    • Ability to operate an office work station, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and other software.
