    Supporting Community Healthcare is a rewarding role. LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Center Manager (CM) in Richmond and San Pablo. The CM provides leadership and clinic management for the day-to-day operations of pediatric, adult, OB, urgent care, and dental departments. The position will promote integration of all lines of business at this new facility in order to offer a cohesive one-stop-shop experience for our patients. The CM will lead the development of new internal systems, ensuring that adequate staffing, quality assurance, and service standards are met, and work with the Associate Medical Director (AMD) and Dental Director to manage budget and personnel issues. LifeLong uses team-based care to provide the most efficient and effective care to our patients.  This position supports the care teams, ensuring team communication, quality care, and patient satisfaction. This is a full time, benefit eligible position.

    Budget and Financial Responsibility 

    • Responsible, together with the Director of Health Center Operations, Associate Medical Director, Dental Director, and senior leadership consultant(s) for clinic financial performance including annual budget development, monthly reviews, and interface with finance department.
    • Engages Medical and Dental leadership and support staff to ensure that visit productivity standards are met.


    Supervision of Clinic Staff

    • Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates department supervisors and other clinic staff to support overall delivery of clinical services in consultation with Medical and Dental Directors.
    • Fosters an environment of comfort and trust among co-workers and patients in providing quality health care.
    • Coordinates the implementation of staff professional development and maintains in-service training schedule to meet the requirements of ancillary and practitioner personnel.
    • Oversees the implementation of dentist, physician, mid-level practitioner, behavioral health and ancillary personnel clinic schedules in coordination with the Medical and Dental Directors. 
    • Collaborates with Human Resources to address employee performance issues, leading conflict resolution efforts as needed.
    • Submits bi-weekly reviewed and approved timesheets for providers and staff.


    Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation

    • Evaluates clinic workflow and activities to create an integrated patient experience in the new facility, optimizing efficiency, client satisfaction, and financial outcomes.
    • Collaborates with central administration and clinic leadership to initiate policies and plans for overall operation of the health center, and establishment of goals and priorities.
    • Ensures organizational structures facilitate cross discipline integration of r services in the clinic. 
    • Community Liaison - Attends external planning and coordination meetings with other agencies to establish and maintain community relations.
    • Represents the clinic and LifeLong in West Contra Costa County, and Richmond specifically.
    • Coordinates LifeLong Medical Care services with external health care agencies and ancillary service providers.


    Quality Assurance

    • Collaborates with central administration and site leadership to ensure patient care is in accordance with protocols, standardized procedures, legal and regulatory requirements, infection control standards and quality assurance program criteria.
    • Provides leadership on the implementation of quality improvement efforts.
    • Assists the Associate Medical Director, Dental Director, and Director of Health Center Operations in the documentation, annual review and update of clinic procedures and patient care protocols.


    General Site Administration

    • Meets regularly with central administration and clinic leadership to coordinate clinical and administrative activities.
    • Coordinates directly with Dental Manager, Patients Services Director, and Chief Administrative Officer to ensure policies, practices and service standards are met.
    • In partnership with the AMD, facilitate internal communication throughout the clinic.
    • Responds to patient complaints, facilitates resolution of conflicts/issues.
    • Manages outside service contracts, including laboratory, hazardous waste, house­keeping, and others as required.
    • Monitors and oversees daily compliance with security protocols and energy efficiency measures within the clinic (nightly powering down of equipment and secure lock-up).
    • Assures that the goals and objectives of LifeLong Medical Care are met in the daily work.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Health Center Operations.


    • Commitment to the provision of primary care and dental services for the underserved.
    • Proven management and administrative experience with complex, multi-disciplinary departments consisting of diverse staff (including but not limited to, cultural, socio-economic and educational diversity).

    Job Requirements          

    • Master's degree in public health, business, health care administration or related field with three years clinic management experience in an outpatient or related health care setting, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five years clinic management experience.
    • Knowledge of finance, accounting and clinic budgeting process.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office suite and experience with database systems.
    • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to providing services to persons who are marginalized, e.g. recent immigrants, homeless, HIV positive, or physically and/or cognitively impaired.
    • Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
