LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Medical Receptionist/Medical Records to work at our Richmond site. The ideal candidate is calm and compassionate with excellent customer service skills and medical office receptionist experience. Must be bilingual English/Spanish. 


    This is a full-time benefited position working 40 hours per week.

    • Responsible for patient reception and client intake.
    • Manages client flow from front desk to back office.
    • Answers clinic phones and directs calls appropriately.
    • Maintains inventory of front desk supplies and forms.
    • Sorts and distributes clinic mail.
    • Performs computer data entry in registration, scheduling and other programs as assigned.
    • Maintains appearance of waiting areas and reception desk.
    • May provide back-up support for the Financial Eligibility Clerk/Cashier and Administrative Assistant.
    • Delivers medical records requested by hospital/clinics/department.
    • Compiles data, such as admissions, discharges, deaths, births, and types of treatment given, and assure documents are scanned
    • May post/scan results of laboratory tests to records and be designated.
    • Keeps health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the records request
    • Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
    • Maintains patient confidence by keeping patient records information confidential.
    • Serves and protects the Clinic by adhering to professional standards, LifeLong's policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
    • Enhances medical records and clinic's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Center Supervisor and Center Manager.

    Job Requirements      

    • High school diploma or GED. 
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a must.
    • One year experience as Medical Receptionist with scheduling and multi-line telephone answering experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Proficient in standard office software (Microsoft).

    Job Preferences

    • Previous experience in working in a community health center preferred.
