LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Licensed Clinical/Child & Family Coordinator for our East Bay Community Recovery Project (EBCRP). The Licensed Clinical/Child & Family Coordinator will coordinate the family program and all related components at the Project Pride residential program for women and children. The Coordinator will work with the Clinical Program Supervisor in providing support and development of the clinical program structure, as well as providing clinical treatment services. The Coordinator will also support the trainee/intern/associate component, providing clinical supervision when needed, monitoring clinical documentation, and training. This position reports to the Clinical Program Supervisor. This is a full time, salaried, grant funded, benefit eligible position, working in Uptown Oakland.

    • Available to be on call for clinical issues on a rotating schedule
    • Available to work one or two weekends a month for appropriate program structure monitoring
    • Supports clinical practices that address the cultural/social/diversity of the population of the program
    • Provides support with clinical supervision to trainees/interns/associates and clinical staff in the program as directed
    • Monitors quality assurance of all clinical records for participants including documentation, confidentiality, and chart audits to ensure adherence to State and County requirements
    • Keeps current with school trainee/intern placement requirements
    • Supports Clinical Program Supervisor with completion of reports and evaluations of trainees/interns/associates as required by the graduate schools, as needed
    • Facilitates and/or co-facilitate clinical meetings to address behavioral and/or clinical concerns, progress, and crisis intervention of all residents
    • Ensures all incident reports that pertain to clinical issues are addressed in a timely manner and assess for risk factors including quality assurance issues
    • Monitors the participation and treatment of all residents
    • Ensures the safeguarding of resident rights, safety, security, and quality client care services
    • Facilitates 1-2 treatment groups weekly
    • Available for crisis intervention and consultation as needed
    • Ensures residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, including the right to wage a complaint in accordance with State, County, and agency policies and procedures
    • Coordinates individual, family, and child counseling and case management services and assessments
    • Provides substance abuse, mental health and psychosocial assessment, as needed
    • Ensures along with Clinical Program Supervisor that counselors use appropriate curriculum in all groups
    • Provides direct clinical services including individual, group, couples, and family sessions and interventions when needed
    • Assists with implementation and maintain an evidence based, trauma-informed, culturally relevant, gender specific treatment program
    • Participates in program development with Clinical Program Supervisor and Program Director
    • Develops and maintains relationships with other agencies in the community, as they pertain to the clinical program
    • Attends necessary agency and program meetings;
    • Participates in grant writing and fund raising as appropriate
    • Coordinates education/vocational component with Clinical Program Supervisor


    • Masters or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field plus a minimum of five years’ experience working in substance use and community mental health programs and two years’ experience providing clinical supervision
    • Must possess a valid LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or PsyD license in the State of California
    • Must be eligible to supervise interns, trainees, and practicum students
    • Understanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of trauma, substance use, and community mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation concepts, and the recovery philosophy
    • Well versed in mandated reporting laws, child development, family systems, stages of change, and co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions
    • Familiar with Drug Medi-Cal documentation standards
    • Knowledge of DSM-V and ICD-10 Diagnosis
    • Familiarity with (or ability to quickly learn) evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and CBT
    • Desire and willingness to work with people with Co-Occurring Disorders
    • Belief that all individuals have strengths and are capable of growth and development
    • Recognition of the value of client input into treatment goals and receptivity to client feedback
    • Ability to integrate knowledge of a variety of models and theories of addiction and other substance-related problems to understand and plan intervention strategies
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Knowledgeable about community resources
    • Proficient computer skills especially using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Excellent writing skills to meet required standards of documentation
    • Ability to monitor as needed with multiple priorities simultaneously, and prioritize effectively on competing demands of time
    • Ability to listen attentively and empathically
    • Adherence to professional standards and scope of practice
    • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals(s) in other teams, divisions, and organizations
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people
    • TB test and health screen required
    • CPR/First Aid certificate required
    • Experience and sensitivity working with HIV/ AIDS, mental health, substance abuse, ethnic, and gender issues
    • Ability to be compassionate and create a welcoming environment for residents as well as ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries
    • Provides a welcoming environment to staff and visitors
