    Supporting Community Healthcare is a rewarding role. LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Project Specialist - New Initiatives at our Administrative Office in Berkeley. This is a grant funded, full time, benefited role. Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Specialist is responsible for supporting LifeLong project management efforts to complete projects on time and within budget. Projects include health information technology initiatives, opening new health centers, piloting new care delivery initiatives, testing and implementing standardized processes and workflows, and implementing new software. Project teams may include medical and dental professionals, clinical support staff, as well as staff from a variety of ancillary departments, such as IT, purchasing, compliance, licensure, billing, finance, and facilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Support multiple projects toward completion of project scope and deliverables.
    • Continuously monitor the progress of project components to ensure the overall goals, schedules, budget, deliverables, and benefits of the program are met.
    • Coordinate projects and teams through development process - needs assessment, research, design, planning.
    • Coordinate projects and teams through implementation process - team management and facilitation, stakeholder communication, training, documentation, and evaluation.
    • Coordinates with vendors to achieve project-related requirements and goals.
    • Act as an advisor to project teams – providing technical assistance and process improvement methodologies.
    • Use detailed work plans, project timelines, budgets, and perform continuous process improvement for all activities.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated project management experience and team facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a positive, supportive manner.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent follow through.
    • Ability to balance the needs of staff, patients and other key stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio (or workflow charting application,) Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire team members (staff as well as vendors), resolve conflicts, and keep a group of people (who are not direct reports) accountable and on target.
    • A willingness to take initiative and learn new skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from various ethnic, socio-economic, educational and experiential backgrounds.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years working in a project management capacity.
    • Experience working for a non-profit community health center and/or other non-profit social service organization is highly desired.
    • Knowledge and/or experience in the following areas: quality/process improvement, chronic care, implementation of health information technology.
