    The Program Aide will provide personal care for participants in the program, serve meals and snacks, clean up, and when needed lead activities and assist in rehabilitation area. The ideal candidate is calm, compassionate and has experience and enjoys interacting with adult populations.

    • Assists participants with personal care including toileting, changing, and transferring.
    • Organizes, prepares, and distributes lunches and snacks and assists participants with eating in feeding group during lunch time.
    • Cleans up after meal times.
    • Communicates in appropriate and professional manner with participants, caregivers, volunteers, other staff and the multi-disciplinary team.
    • Monitors and reports behavior of participants (disposition, falls, wandering) to activity coordinator, RN, and social worker. Informs the RN of clinical changes immediately. Reads and records information in the communications binder daily.                    
    • Sets up the room for daily program. Maintains neatness and order in rooms. Monitors supply inventory.
    • In addition to the duties listed above, the Program Aide will be expected to work in other departments as needed. These duties may include front desk coverage, PT or OT Aide duties.
    • As requested, assists with and leads activity programs, including group activities, 1:1 activities and socialization, special events, parties, shows, outside breaks, etc. and other duties as assigned.


    Job Requirements          

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull objects exceeding 150 pounds, using appropriate body mechanics. Must be able to transfer participants needing maximum assist of one.
    • Requires the ability to stand, walk, push, bend, kneel and reach at arm’s length and overhead for prolonged periods of time.
    • Current CPR and First aid cards.
    • Fluent in English.

    Job Preferences              

    • Certified Nursing Assistant.
    • One year experience working with frail seniors, adults with disabilities, and dementia patients.
    • Bilingual – Spanish/English
