    Supporting Community Healthcare is a rewarding role. LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Front Desk Eligibility Specialist to work at our site in San Pablo. This is a full time, benefitted position, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday with some evenings. The Front Desk Eligibility Specialist will support the clinic with checking eligibility, patient intake, manages schedules (booking, cancellations, rescheduling), answering phones/routing calls, cash collection management, managing mail and shipments, patient registration, data entry, reporting and other duties as assigned. Bilingual English/Spanish a must.

    Responsibilities

    • Greets, visitors, patients and vendors and connects them to the appropriate person.
    • Responsible for patient reception and intake.
    • Manages client flow from front desk to back office.
    • Answers clinic phones and directs calls appropriately.
    • Checking eligibility for each patient.
    • Performs computer data entry and validation for registration, scheduling and other programs as assigned.
    • Cash collections management (send cash to A/P, notify A/P if no cash has been collected).
    • Receives and distributes all incoming correspondence including mail, faxes, interoffice mail courier items and packages.
    • Generate and maintain all current signage or new signage as requested.
    • Generates correspondence as requested.
    • Maintains appearance of waiting areas and reception desk.
    • May provide back-up support for the Financial Eligibility Clerk/Cashier and Administrative Assistant.
    • Maintains inventory of front desk supplies and forms.
    • Keeps statistical records as requested by Clinic Manager.
    • Enters provider templates.
    • Order supplies as needed.
    • Make follow-up calls.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or Center Manager.

    Job Requirements:  

    • High school diploma or GED.  
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a must. 
    • One year experience in the medical field.
    • Excellent customer service and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Proficient in standard office software (Microsoft).

     

     

    Job Preferences:

    • Bachelor’s degree in health science or a related field.
    • Experience in working in a community health center.
