    LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a highly motivated Psychiatrist/Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner, either full time or part time, to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate must have a commitment to providing comprehensive psychiatric care in a medical setting.  They should be interested in building collaborative teams, and working with underserved populations.  There is opportunity to do nursing home/hospice care if interested.

    1. Conducts psychiatric assessments and administers treatment of all referred primary care patients.
    2. Offers diagnostic and treatment consultation to primary care providers and other clinicians.
    3. Develops and assists in implementing psychiatric treatment plans with the patient’s primary care provider and other clinical providers or staff.
    4. Participates in case conferences, staff meetings, and phone conversations to coordinate services for the clinics’ patients. All services will be provided in collaboration with other behavioral health clinicians, service coordinators, case managers, social workers, and primary care clinicians.
    5. Provides ongoing training and guidance to clinic team members around psychiatric issues relevant to primary care.
    6. Actively participates in regular meetings of all of the LifeLong psychiatrists.
    7. Helps conduct functional assessments of patients and makes appropriate referrals when indicated.
    8. Documents mental health disabilities in partnership with other clinic staff and help patients with disability program applications and appeals when necessary.
    9. Provides integrated mental health and substance abuse treatment services and planning for patients.
    10. Helps develop and conduct staff trainings regarding psychiatric care when appropriate.
    11. Participates in ongoing program development and improvement activities.
    12. Completes necessary documentation for clinical records and billing.
    13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    14. Participates in Utilization Review/Quality Assurance/Continuous Quality Improvement activities based on organization, site and specialty goals.
    15. Supports educational efforts which promote mental health in the community.
    16. Participates in professional development activities.
    17. Participates in LifeLong Clinician Association activities and agrees to abide by their Guidelines and Code of Conduct.

    Education & Experience


    • Current California MD license and completed residency program in psychiatry.
    • Training and experience in public sector work, community mental health, and working with dually diagnosed clients.
