Overview

Supporting Community Healthcare is a rewarding role, come join a wonderful organization! LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance department in Berkeley. The financial analyst collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data; develops automated and reusable routines for extracting requested information from database systems; develops analytical insights to guide business decision making for LifeLong Medical Care’s Finance Department, management, and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares reports and conducts comprehensive analyses with written summaries and presentations to management.
  • Performs financial analysis upon identification of variances.
  • Participates in the planning and development of organization, clinic and support services budgets. May be responsible for budget system completion and high level reviews.
  • Gathers, consolidates and analyzes operating and financial results, including analysis of budget vs. actual, monthly trends, other expense drivers, and external reporting requirements.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers to proactively identify and define reporting needs and specifications. To support management and performance monitoring requirements.
  • Provides report documentation.
  • Seeks and provides advice to analysts in other departments and business units regarding standardization of business rules and algorithms for analysis and reporting.
  • Develops and implements effective cost control reporting and triggers.
  • Conducts ongoing user education and provides management consultation on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies and source data and systems.
  • Manages projects of moderate to complex scope with general supervision involving team members from multiple departments.
  • Monitors compliance with policies and procedures related to financial management and budget systems and related automated systems.
  • Ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Reconciliations as assigned
  • Facilitates, coordinates and implements the rollout of SharePoint and Decision Support software
  • Key player in annual reports such as OSPHD, UDS, etc.

  • Ability to formulate finance study designs and prepare and conduct professional presentations.

Job Requirements          

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field required.
  • 1-2 years related work experience in detailed financial and operational data analysis, budgeting and providing consultative support.
  • Highly developed knowledge of finance presentation and variance analysis.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft suite, including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management

 

Job Preferences

  • Healthcare or non-profit experience.
  • Blackbaud Financial edge experience preferred.
  • Experience with an organization with a $50 million dollar annual budget and grants.
  • Master’s degree in Finance or related field preferred.
